Drinking is healthy – and also important for other reasons. If you drink too little liquid, you can expect all kinds of physical and mental problems: loss of concentration, problems with digestion and bowel movements, headaches, and even backaches are the consequences of insufficient fluid intake.
The intervertebral discs consist of 80% fluid.
During the day, this proportion decreases slightly. During the night, when the back is in a horizontal position, the intervertebral discs fill up with fluid again.
Research studies have shown that sufficient fluid intake during the day has a positive effect on the fluid content of the intervertebral discs, especially in relation to movement.
It was assumed for a long time that we should drink at least two liters of water a day. However, recent studies have shown that this rule is only partially correct. Drink when you are thirsty is the motto today. However, know that it is always better to drink too much than too little.
Simply place a glass with water or a handy drinking bottle on your desk every morning. You will find that the water glass or drinking bottle on your table will encourage you to drink!
This little habit provides good service to your body as your fluid intake remains balanced.
